Back to Oamaru

We got up, put our bags in the car and drove to Ashburton, where we arrived at 10am.  We had a very nice leisurely breakfast and enjoyed our coffee at The Somerset Grocer.  I left MrMacD to go and find a nice birthday card for him for tomorrow.  He did offer to design and print one, but I could hardy let him make his own card!!  I met him afterwards and we walked by this interesting fountain and a xylophone nearby that could actually be played, which we thought was a great idea.  It was sunny but cold.

We arrived home at 1:45pm, unpacked, got a load of washing on and relaxed with a coffee.  It was good to be home and we’re looking forward to sleeping in our own bed, although it’s only for one night as we’re travelling to Dunedin tomorrow to celebrate MrMacD’s significant birthday.

We’ve heard that four from our group have tested positive for Covid, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

And I still haven’t dipped into blip journals, as there just hasn’t been time.
