Saint Patrick’s Day Parade
Saturday
After a frosty start, it developed into a lovely sunny day, and we decided to go downtown to see the Saint Patrick’s Day parade, which is always held on the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day. The route wasn’t that long, but there were still quite a number of participants, including the Sheriffs dept Pipes and Drums, High School bands, Irish Dancing groups, the Shriners, various floats, a group of 6 DeLorean cars with their gull wing doors open, and various family or Clan participants. It was a fun and colourful sight with all the Irish flags and people dressed in green. We were watching it from near the river, so when it was over, we went for a beautiful walk along the Ohio, with lots of Spring flowers and blossom - see extra collage.
