The excitement of clean water
Alfred has just fitted a new pump to an old well.
This well was dug many years ago and failed soon after.
Even though this is a common and happens regularly, it is no less sad and of course unbelievable.
The majority of pumps fitted have no back-up, no plan B , in fact no maintenance plan.
We manufacture and use a very simple hand pump, which is inexpensive and needs little attention. If there is an issue, the women in the village are trained to do the maintenance.
Looks like a logical process, but common sense is a rarity.
Since the well was OK this was a simple procedure
Suck out the water a few times
Add some Chlorine
Screw in our pump: we have adapted our pump to fit!
and behold the sparkling, clean and safe water.
Oh the pump costs about £30 to make and an extra bit for fuel and labour
Over 200 people will use this as their source of water.
Do the maths and surprise yourself
Not really rocket science!!
