Somewhere new
Forest of Bowland today.
This photo was taken at the highest point on the road between Slaidburn and High Bentham. Catlow Fell to the left and that's Pendle Hill off in the distance right and Stocks Reservoir. It's a road I have looked at on maps for years. At the very last moment I decided to give it a go - its a very narrow single track and feels like Scottish lowlands in places.
It's wonderful moorland and there seem to be far more birds than on our Dark Peak part of the Peak District - Skylarks for example. Shame it was so grey.
