Car Park Attendant

Ten years ago, the car park of a motorway service station would have had starlings and sparrows taking advantage of the crumbs and leftovers. Now, rooks have worked out that there is an easy living to be had and with their powerful beaks, they can make short work of any leftovers.

Took this picture on the way to Reading to collect my son from university. He's just finished his second year and got a 2-1 equivalent in his end of year exams. His stuff filled the car - the boot and the back seat, and I had to wait a bit while he just finished off a bit of cleaning, as he is moving out of the house and has a different one next year.

The journey was good, with no hold ups at all and having set off at 8am I was back home again by 5.15pm, having covered some 416 miles. If only it was that easy every time!
