Weavers

The main reason for our short break in the Borders was the chance to visit the Great Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels. A friend had recommended allowing a whole day and he was right!  So much to look at, so many details, and lots of accompanying historical commentary. I also loved the quotes from some of the stitchers with little snippets about why certain things were included or not.

I’ve chosen this for my blip as I’ve recently been busy with some family history research and many of my family were involved in weaving in Fife.   So a personal connection.

Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back….cafe is good too!
