Piazza della Repubblica, Orvieto
We arrived in Orvieto from Florence at 5:30 and got to our apartment at 6 after a ride on the hill in the funicular and a 15-minute walk to our airbnb. The third floor apartment is spacious with wood floors, full kitchen, living room and two bedrooms. It’s in a great location downtown.
We had dinner at a recommended restaurant, Osteria da Mamma Angela. The grilled pork was flavorful and potatoes were crispy. The babcalà had a soft texture with a savory tomato sauce. The panna cotta with cooked berry sauce was heavenly: Incredibly smooth but with structure and just enough zing from the berries.
After dinner we wandered the streets that are all lit and enjoyed going down alleys and small streets to see where they led. The moon was almost full and the skies clear.
Back in the apartment we were ready to crash after the end of an intense week.
