Manuel Antonio
BB - There has been a successful reintroduction of the scarlet macaws and I feel lucky to have seen them enroute to Manuel Antonio. We take a wonderful mangrove night tour seeing four types of snakes, iguanas, sleeping swallowtail butterflies and more. There are a variety of birds, by far my favourite sightings are the sleeping Pygmy kingfisher and the sleeping banded necked barb tailed hummingbird-and we are able to get very close (poor photos but fabulous sightings) - and the anteater which is walking in a tree maybe 40 feet above us
