Truro
Last time we were in Newquay we took a magical mystery bus ride to Padstow. Today we took the slow bus in the opposite direction, along the coast through the holiday village of Perranporth, the old mining town, now thriving artist community, of St Agnes, then cut across country to the county town of Truro.
The town was nicely bustling without being too busy. There was an interesting craft market on Lemon Quay. We could only peer into the cathedral from the porch as there was a service in progress, but enough to see all the crucifixes and statues under shrouds. We had lunch in Charlotte's Tea House in the Coinage Hall, which is full of Victorian antiques, looks down on the main pedestrain streets, and serves delicious home cooked savoury dishes and cakes.
When we got back the sun was shining so we went for a long walk along the cliffs (extra). Unfortunately we didn't notice the storm cloud building behind us and we got soaked coming back.
