Simon Armitage

Night out tonight to see a hero of mine, the poet Simon Armitage at the Didsbury Arts Festival. He was great.

Dragged my husband and sister Jo along too and then had a Negroni cocktail at Jo's new favourite hang out, The Didsbury Lounge afterwards, meeting up with her housemate Hamish and friends. All in all a lovely evening.

It was a sociable day. Hung out at the Chorlton Coffee Festival for brunch with Dan and Bethany and their lovely family. Hit it off with Beth's sister Amy who has a little girl called Martha, aged 8 months. She's just moved back from Oz to Marple recently and seemed lovely so we're going to meet up for lunch soon.

Then had tapas on Beech Road while we fed Audrey her tea and Jo came and joined us before heading over to Didsbury.

Lots of eating out and drinking every night for a few days has taken its toll though. Need a good week to redress the balance I think!
