May add a thermal image taken today, when I find those taken. Using my camera at work and brought a collection of files home, but the camera doesn't seem to use a logical method of naming the files (IMHO) and hasn't recorded all the usual IPTC information about when the photo was taken, camera used, settings, etc. Or that may just be because I transferred them to a laptop using Bluetooth.
Did try transferring the files via USB cable to my PC, but the camera tried to charge up its (large) battery via the PC's port, which caused the PC to give a rude message about the device trying to draw too much current. Hence the Bluetooth transfer. Probably have to bring the camera back home, at some later stage.
The thermal camera images taken, were for an energy audit lab/demo I was running with an HN class. Brought the thermal camera along to highlight various heat losses in the complex system we were operating. Good information for the Students' reports, and makes them aware of such devices and their potential uses. Something unexpected, but highly noteworthy, was a connector coming from the main electrical control box of a large pump motor, was shown on the images as being at about 50 degrees C, on the outside. It'll be hotter inside. Some problem that may have been present for several decades, as the circa 1970s apparatus is only used about three times a year, and isn't ever run for more than about forty minutes.
Fault noted for investigative dissection later.
