Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

Early Morning Sleep

This morning Tristan woke slightly after 6:00 and walked into our room. Because Mr. Fun, his great-grandpa, was already out of bed, Tristan crawled in on the empty side of the bed and quickly fell asleep again.

Of course, the pooches wanted to snuggle him. When they do snuggle, he giggles. If they lick him, he busts out laughing. Watching him with our three K-9s is lots of fun.

When we came home from family camp yesterday, we thought that Tristan would be going home immediately with his daddy, but a phone call from his dad changed that. Because Tristan's dad and step-mom wanted to surprise Tristan with a trip to Disneyland today, they asked if he could just spend the night with us; our house is closer to Disneyland than theirs, so it made sense to just get Tristan this morning. Well our answer was, "Of course!" So we were fortunate to have one extra night with Tristan.

After he left this morning, I stepped back into the house and could hear the "sucking" noise as all the energy here sped out through the front-door and followed Tristan as he left in his daddy's car; the silence within this house magnified.

We wonder when we'll get to see this little guy again. During this past week, his little voice has filled our every waking minute. We were so glad that he got to accompany us to family camp.

Good night from a VERY HOT & humid Southern California.
