Through the simple process of photosynthesis plants are able to capture energy directly from the sun in ways we still cannot even dream of. Through that chemical reaction plants tap into the biggest energy source in our universe directly, the sun.

The carbon they store from this process we burn as fossil fuels. Coal, oil and natural gas are essentially the fossilized remains of plants from the cretaceous, permian, carboniferous and other eras of deep time. We burn these ancient fossil fuels to power our civilization, and at great cost to the planet.

What plants do naturally through a chemical reaction we still cannot efficiently replicate. The energy of our civilization a crude imitation. So remember the miracle of a leaf: the original cell, carbon storer, energy maker, miracle of life...
