Summer Hats
This is summer hat #2 -- you can see summer hat #1 here.
Well, this has been our first full day back home from family camp on Catalina Island. I was awake before 5:00 this morning. This past week we've tried to make it to the shoreline every morning as the light just began to illuminate the sky and the birds began their morning songs. We never did see a sunrise over Saddleback Mountain because each morning the sky was overcast, but we sat there sipping coffee watching the awe and wonder of the ocean's shoreline. So this morning in my mind I could hear the gentle slapping of the ocean on the shore, but it was only in my mind.
The upstairs master bedroom looks like a suitcase explosion, but the piles of laundry are slowing decreasing by one washing machine load at a time. I am planning to back-blip the week at camp by doing it one day at a time. So you can see our first day of the adventure (last Sunday) here.
It's difficult to believe that this is the final Sunday in June. In 2 days this year will be on the half-way marker. It's been a good year and there is still so much of summer to enjoy.
Today the temps climbed -- it was approximately 92 degrees here. When I walked out of church late morning, the sidewalks were sizzling and my car felt like a toaster oven.
We've had a nice relaxed afternoon reminiscing about the week that has just passed. I hope you've had a Sunday to remember.
Good night from Southern California.

P.S. Tomorrow our pool will finally get the replaster job that was started over a month ago. What's the saying about construction -- it always takes longer and costs more than estimated. We're proof of that. We'll be swimming in 3 days. Woohoo. I've tried not to bore you with the lack of progress on the pool. It has all seemed very slow to me, but we've added on to the job by messing with sprinklers, moving the built-in barbeque, and numerous other things.
