Christmas in July

We've been doing this for a few years now ... having a Christmas meal on July 1st. It's a public holiday here for Hong Kong SAR day, the day of handover in 1997.

Martin says that as he was growing up in Australia, he'd heard of people who celebrated Christmas in July sometimes just to experience how it would be 'cold'!

So we've adopted the tradition here, really only to have a turkey dinner again, cause its one of our favourite meals. And as Andrew, Jasmine, Zek and Jax are leaving soon and they usually spend Christmas with us, we thought it would be a great farewell meal too! Martin did his usual AMAZING job of cooking the turkey, he always delivers a juicy, succulent turkey. What a star.

I also got to use my newly acquired trifle bowl ... love the layers. I did also semi-decorate the table with some Christmas things and Elizabeth gathered them together to make this little tree, aaw.

Great day, great friends, GREAT food and to top it all off, Jax and Zek are sleeping over. Precious memories.
