SAR Day
July 1 is SAR (Special Administrative Region) Day, started in 1997 commemorating the handover of Hong Kong from British rule back to China. The day is usually celebrated with fireworks and in recent years with peaceful pro democracy rallies.
In our household however, we've been celebrating 'Christmas in July' for the past 4yrs!! Just another excuse to have a Christmas lunch really. Martin did not disappoint yet again with a superbly moist, scrumptious turkey. Had some of our besties with us and enjoyed a lovely afternoon of food and fellowship.
I am feeling seriously sleep deprived, but I have woken up again to watch the Argentina-Switzerland match. I don't think I'll be able to last till 4am to watch Belgium play USA so will catch that match tomorrow.
