The final leg for now
At midnight I became aware of something moving in the bothy that wasn't me. A light bump, then some faint pattering. Then the sound of plastic crinkling. On with the torch, I spotted a mouse scampering back to a gap behind wood panelling at a window.
And that became the repeated pattern for the night until my alarm went off at 05:30. Trying to block the gap didn't make much difference and it reappeared. Not a restful stay in what was otherwise a fantastic bothy.
A couple of hours more walking round the rest of the coast as sun rose and onto the road to meet the 9am bus south. The driver was the first (and last) soul I had seen all weekend. Perfect.
Picture is looking south over Loch Tarbert with the Paps looming tall.
