Walking the Line

We've walked along the old railway path dozens of times and never noticed this old railway station sign. It's almost certainly not original but you never can tell. It's on a pole outside what used to be the railway station before the line was axed by Dr Beeching. The path follows the abandoned railway line and has become one of the most popular walking routes. According to another sign, it goes all the way to Sunderland! It's quite possible that it's been used by more people as a walking/cycling route than it ever would have been as a railway line.
