Canal Walk: Day 2
Second day of our Canal Walk now completed - slightly longer today at 13-miles; but we're safely at the Auchinstarry Marina staying in the Boathouse Hotel for the evening :-)
Started off the day by walking back up the River Kelvin and rejoining the Forth & Clyde Canal, at the Maryhill Locks; weather was fine this morning and we enjoyed passing by the relatively new Stockingfield Bridge and meeting 'The Beithir' (a 121-metre mythical serpent from Scottish folklore!) ... see today's photo.
A bit later on managed a morning coffee&cake stop at the impressive Lambhill Stables Cafe, before pressing on to Kirkintilloch where we stopped for our packed-lunch. The later afternoon walking, onwards to Auchinstarry, was fairly wet - and we were pleased to arrive at the warm and welcoming marina hotel :-)
Everything drying up nicely and we're now aiming to get to Falkirk (a slightly shorter day) by tomorrow afternoon ...
... & finally; just the usual brief reminder that we are primarily undertaking the expedition to raise money for EUCS - if you want to/can help, our JustGiving page is here:

Thank you :-)
