Purple Magnolia
Another rainy day, but dry in the late afternoon. Thanks to the time change, it was still light after work, so B and I went for a walk. We stayed on hard surfaces and walked between gardens, because the gravel paths have turned to mud after all the rain. In one garden, this purple magnolia is just starting to bloom, much later than the more commonly seen, pink varieties.
I didn’t go anywhere else today. Yesterday, a huge unexploded WWII bomb had been dug up at a building site not very far from here. Before it could be defused, about 10.000 people were evacuated and two highways closed, which caused chaos on all adjacent roads (including ours) for most of today.
The defusing went well, but got delayed over two hours by people refusing to leave their houses, and needing to be convinced by the police.
