Gromit unleashed.
Today 80 Gromits - each individually painted by local artists and national celebrities - have popped up around Bristol. They are part of a major fundraising drive for the Children's Hospital, following hot on the heels of the gorillas that graced our streets 2 years ago. I hope to follow the Gromit Trail with the children over the summer, or maybe I'll visit them all on a few of my morning runs. This one is called Bunty, and is guarding St Mary Redcliffe, the most impressive church in the city. Gromit's legs are painted with distinctive street scenes in Bristol - most notably the coloured houses of Cliftonwood and Totterdown. The artist is Paula Bowles.
