She must have really loved him ...
Day 1 in London. Dave and I walked through Hyde Park to our hotel and then on to lunch in Charlotte Street and an unsuccessful shopping trip to Heal's. Later we put on our glad rags and headed out Opera Holland Park for a fabulous evening of high culture and free champagne.
Despite all the potential, I struggled to get a photograph today. The light was flat, and I didn't feel up to the task. This shot of the statue representing Asia on one of the four corners of the Albert Memorial was my most promising. It's a magnificently gaudy tribute, and such a shame it's all fenced in, so you can't get a closer look at the shiny golden figure of Albert.
