I've often wondered

What kind of plant makes this large ball of seeds. Anyone know?

Today was book circle day and we went home to one of the guys in our group. 'The history of love' was discussed and the outcome was that none of us really liked it. I liked some parts, but some parts were a mess, but the ending was great and I wanted to know what happened after. We ate scones and drank tea and talked about different things. It's a great group of people and we had a new member today also. :)
