Dawn's Journal

King of the Estuary

Today I took my sister, BiL and Jak the dog down to RSPB Pagham Harbour for a walk near the coast and to give BiL a chance to try out his new extender for his long lens on the birds.  Sadly, birds were a bit few and far between with only some oyster catchers, curlews and a few overhead gulls, and most right on the outer reaches of any of our lenses. I think the low outgoing tide wasn't helping.

However, we weren't really complaining as it was a glorious warm day and we had a lovely picnic lunch sitting on beach, and afterwards watching Jak try to dig his way through the shingle to Australia!

Heading back to the car we spotted the little egret wading through water while fishing. He looked so proud in this picture, so had to be my shot of the day.
