The Sky, the Sea and the Sand

A distinct norwest arch dominated the western sky early this morning, making for a stunning sunrise, followed by dramatic clouds over Pegasus Bay. This view is looking westward (left) towards the Southern Alps, with the Kaikoura Ranges away to the north. It's a very big sky and those clouds were spectacular. A neighbour of mine was out for a walk, and we stood there chatting away, marvelling at the changing patterns and colours in the clouds and reflections.
