Jumpstyle

We had our annual 'W's Got Talent' showcase today - Year 10 students who have worked (though this term is stretching it for some students!) on some creative/movement pieces for the past few weeks show their work to the Year 9's. We start with a mass Year 10 girls waita (action song) then the boys stir the energy levels up a few notches with a haka (action dance/challenge). (This link is not to our performance but I thought non-Kiwi's might be interested in what I'm talking about - our students are a bit bigger than these cuties!)

There were some great performances and many of the students were challenged to step out of their comfort zones to perform. Some stepped up and met the challenge head on, some stepped in and were mightily relieved when it was all over and some stepped back before they even stepped up to the performance area!

This paticular shot was from a very large group who performed a jumpstyle dance to this . . . . . . foot tapping indeed!!
