Costa Rica Day 9 - Manuel Antonio
Today we went into the National Park of Manuel Antonio. The entrance is just near our hotel so it was just a short walk there. They are very strict about no plastics, no food, no cigarettes. Bags were searched at the entrance and items were confiscated. Not us, we had been warned.
It was incredibly hot and humid in the park where we walked along the trails. We saw squirrel monkeys, sloths, a crocodile, iguanas, another basilisk lizard and birds of various descriptions.
On one path after walking through mangrove flats you wound up at a beach, first extra, I have given you a panarama. We carried on through sloth central. They are high up in the canopy and are very difficult to see but I give you a head of one (upside down) and another's body to give you a bit of an idea. (2nd and 3rd extra). The paths in the park are very well done and easy to walk on.
When we got back to the hotel we were drained by the heat and humidity and so this squirrel monkey taken from the balcony this after will give you an idea how we felt. It was off for a swim and then a relaxing afternoon.
We wandered down to the beach to catch the sunset, last extras.
And now we are just back from dinner which was delicious (seafood). Tomorrow will be a bit of exploring in the local area.
