Tree buds

Today l took a little photo walk by the Blane Water. I liked the colours of these buds ready to burst forth. I don’t know what kind of tree it is. 
A pair of mallard ducks have settled into the tiny fenced area round the wildlife pond in the primary school playground. I’m not sure they will hang around when the school opens on Monday after the Easter holidays. I couldn’t get a decent photo of them through the lovely native hedge the school has planted next to the path.
