Chesil Beach
Okay, day 5 of my hol, last Tuesday. We started off by going to Portland Bill and wandering about on the rocks, inspecting the lighthouse and enjoying the sunshine, sea pinks and guillimots (not to mention a rather strange take on beach huts!). Then we stopped for lunch at a pub the other end of the Isle of Portland, which a nice chap recommended. This is it. It's called the Cove House Inn. It was a bit off the beaten track, right on Chesil Beach, at the eastern end where it begins its journey half way across Lyme Bay.
I found the great wide acres of shingle, and this somehow rather lonely looking building, a bit Dickensian and weird. So I thought I'd share it with you. x
