The Standoff

The BigWhiteDog and I walk by her house at least once a day. About 90% of the time Baby (her name) leaps out from her 'hiding place' behind the front wheel of a parked car. She does that sideway hopping forward movement accompanied by a high arched back, in typical "be very afraid of me" cat style. Fletcher is only a bit afraid of her. He usually just jumps back when she surprises us. Me? I'm always startled, no matter how prepared I think I am for her. m
