Preferred grubs
We went to Hillers to get provisions and to have a look if there was any bird hide action. There was.
I’m assuming this is a female blackbird despite its speckled thrushy appearance.
Hillers put out loads of fruit and veg for the birds. I think they’ve stopped putting out bread and cake now. Good, if they have.
But although the bird was rooting around the discarded carrots and cabbage stalks, it seemed to find lots of little grubs and insects and ignore the offerings. Not a veggie then.
There was a rather charming little Mrs Mallard which I liked also. See collage.
