Maggie Wall Monument.
It's been a good day. Lots of sunshine. I did some dusting and tidying then went out in the afternoon. After a lot of checking on the map I went over the Path of Condie from Milnathort to Dunning and never set eyes on another car. I haven't been on it since before the pandemic. Photographed a favourite hill with trees on the top and found a lamb at last in a place where I could stop. Once in Dunning I went along to the Maggie Wall monument. There is no record of someone in Dunning of that name and no record of her burning but records exist of six other women in the area being killed as witches. There are many stories and rumours. Nobody knows who erected the monument or who renews the painting on it every year. although some locals have their suspicions. There is also a mystery about who places a wreath there each year too So many women were killed as witches in that period and it's as if they never lived. This is the only monument that acknowledges their existence. If you look closely you will see that people leave all sorts of small gifts and tokens.
