As usual at this time of year, the vegetation is just springing up all over the place in the garden. I have a stepping stone path which winds around at the back of the back garden, and now when I stroll along it it’s becoming difficult to see the stones for the green alkanet and other plants that are spilling over them.
We have several nesting pouches and one nesting box sited strategically in the flower bed, but so far no birds have taken advantage of them. I live in hope. This one was put up last year in the centre of a Photinia bush, but there are sadly no signs that any bird has yet chosen it as a des res.
