Lovely lilac

I’ve been spring cleaning our bedroom today, which involved pushing (with help) our king sized bed into the centre of the room, and ditto my dressing table, in order to vacuum and spray with moth killer all the parts of the carpet that are usually covered. I have seen one or two moths on walls lately and couldn’t bear the thought of some of them feasting on our bedroom carpet while it was undisturbed for a fortnight while we’re away.

Consequently I’m feeling a bit virtuous this evening because, not only will our bedroom be sweet-smelling and moth proofed by bedtime, but I’ve also made a special 40th birthday card for The Traveller’s girlfriend and done quite a bit of tidying in the craft room. As I said yesterday, there’s nothing like a deadline for making me get on with things! 

This gorgeous lilac tree is in our Vicarage garden, and I snapped it on my way out after dropping off a birthday card for our Vicar’s wife for tomorrow.
