Flaxes……

This stand of indigenous plants is on the bank of the river next to a footbridge. The plants include flaxes, a cabbage tree and other plants. New Zealand native birds such as Tui are attracted to the flaxes when in flower. It’s fun to watch the birds from the footbridge. But of course they were asleep somewhere when I photographed the area before dawn this morning.
