Pavement

Heavy rain pounded and dripped through the night. Maputo is not known for prolonged wet weather, so I believe it’s related to El Niño. The city’s pavements, often in a precarious state, are faring particularly badly.

I was at a workshop in the day, which I had to periodically bob out of for calls. At these times, a lawn mower drowned out my ability to hear.

No work event is complete these days without a chunk of time devoted to risk management. As always, the level of animation that some people are able to set aside for risk management is an impressive feat.
