Cygnet update
Following the visit of Susan's Australian relatives we went for our customary evening walk to inspect the local cherry tree and check out the swans and cygnets on Mallards Lake. I last reported from here on 28th May 2013 when there were 4 cygnets, now they are down to 3, but the survivors look big enough and strong enough to make it to adulthood - all things being equal. So from a brood of 9, 3 have made it this far.
It was good to see the relations, especially for Susan and her mum, especially to discuss the family history as Colin knows alot more about Susan's dad's side of the family. We were rather hoping he'd brought some pictures of people we'd found out about but it was not to be and he promised to do some scanning when they returned home.
A different sort of day, entertaining mid week, but it all went well.
