In a quiet corner

What excitement today.. my wonderful friend that left England to return to live in NZ 18months ago is back in the UK and today was the first opportunity to meet up with her.  Three of us journeyed to Waterperry with the promise of Fritillaries in their meadow as a side line to the catch up. We paid our entrance of £11 and then asked where we would see the best display only to be told they were over.. hmm.  That was a little disappointing but undeterred we took a wander and were amazed to see monkshood and geums flowering along with aquilegia and other 'summer' flowers.. the season seems far too early!!
