Mezquita
A morning on the terrace with coffees, book and lots of sunshine before tourist stuff in town for the afternoon.
Our main planned activity was visiting the Mezquita (or The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba to give it one of its other titles). It's a huge mosque from the eighth century with a thirteenth century cathedral as well, following the Reconquista when Christian military campaigns reclaimed Andalusia from the Muslim kingdoms and built their own place of worship within the already existing one. And, historical/religious/political considerations aside, it's pretty spectacular.
Plenty more exploring in town afterwards with a couple of bar and cafe stops chucked in. A fair few aesthetically pleasing photo opportunities as well.
