An ordinary life....

Grand Finale...

The last day of our holiday has come round so quickly.  Can't believe we head home tomorrow.

We woke to blue skies and sunshine, a million miles from yesterday's grey, wet day.  Woo hoo! :-)

Got a little bit of packing done before we headed back to Poppy's Garden Centre for lunch.  There was something in their gift shop that I regretted not buying for Alan when we were there earlier in the week, so that was a good excuse to return :-)

Cheese and ham panini for me and pear, blue cheese and walnut salad for D.  Delicious.  Bought the gift for Alan that I'd spotted earlier in the week, a tin seahorse to hang in the pool room.  Of course had to buy a toy for Lola too.  A stuffed octopus (bit of a sea theme :-) She will have it destuffed in minutes!

After lunch we set off for Clachan Bridge - the bridge over the Atlantic - taking us from the mainland to the Isle of Seil.  What a lovely bridge and what a lovely drive to get there.

Once on Seil we drove to Ellenabeich, a small village that's a former slate-mining village.  It's a pretty little place and we got out for a wander.  The sunshine was deceptive as the sea breeze was sharp so we didn't wander for long.

Back in the car we explored some more of the island before heading back to finish packing.

Once we'd packed what we won't need tomorrow we headed to Oban Fish and Chip shop to pick up two fish suppers for dinner.  We drove the short distance to Ganavan sands to enjoy eating them with a view of the sea.  We couldn't have timed it better as the sun was setting and we were treated to a spectacular show.

We weren't the only ones to enjoy it, couples, families, children and an array of dogs all wandered across the beach, taking in the view and playing chase.  Unsurprisingly there was even a photographer there capturing the magic and I had to chose a shot featuring him as my blip.

He was right at the water's edge and bending down with his camera almost touching the water at one point.  I am sure his photographs will be amazing.

Sitting there, eating our fish suppers and watching the sun set over Lismore Island (to the right) and the Isle of Mull (to the left) we both agreed that we'd had the loveliest of holidays and will definitely return.

Back to the holiday house for a cuppa and a lot of photo editing.  It's been so long since I've had so many scenes worth photographing and so many photos to edit.

Extras include my fish supper, some scenes on the Isle of Seil, including part of Ellenabeich village, Clachan Bridge and another sunset shot.

Great memories made this week :-)
