We were also being lazybones today, as we had another arrival to wait for, and the sun was shining perfectly. So what better to do than to sit outside and await your arrivals? Even if sitting outside leaves you prey to the fascinated children of other of your families and end up playing dominoes with them for the morning...
As soon as the new arrivals came all of us headed to the pool, the day was literally that hot. And boy, was I glad to get there...the sun was boiling. Instead of just having one family of fascinated children, we now had two to play with - seven children in total ranging in ages from three to twelve years old. Obviously the twelve year old was more subtle about her interest than the younger ones, who were demanding that we took them down the slides. Many times. Many, many, many times. Lucky we like playing on the slides then isn't it?!
Compliment number one, for Jen: "I like your hair, it is like, blonde, but brown as well"
Compliment number two, directed at me in front of their family: "I wish you were my mummy"
Awkward laughing followed by a confession that I probably was not old enough to be her "mummy". Then the saddening confirmation of age when you realise that you actually could be...
A nice beer in the sunshine in the evening was followed by customer visits, a traditional Monday evening thing. At other sites (the ones with the area manager!) they have to do their visits from 8am until 10am...who wants to be woken up then on their holiday? So we have changed ours to the evening, to great effect! After putting the children to bed in one, to a fierce few games of dominoes and a few gin and tonics in another, an interesting evening was had by all. I spotted this paraglider doing its rounds while we were sitting outside and thought it added a little something to the view from our front door, the other side. Sometimes it is a little frustrating that we can't leave the site when there are arrivals...I mean I can see the logic in it and all, but it is still annoying when I can't find much to photograph!
