A birthday

We celebrated Sam and Max's fourth birthday today and it was delightful.  They received lots of gifts but, unlike last year, didn't fall upon them and tear them open before saying hello.  In the main photo you see Manda helping the boys open gifts, in this case the sweaters I gave the boys and the book Sam is reading.  Levi was also there, a surprise as we'd thought he wasn't sufficiently over his cold.  He is so close to walking!  In the collage you see Levi, Sam wearing his 4th birthday crown, and Max looking pensive.

A wonderful dinner of pulled pork burritos and salad, and chocolate cupcakes with candles for the boys to blow out, followed.  And we all left for home while it was still daylight.  I stopped at Safeway on my way home but discovered that Sunday evening is not a good time to shop, as they were out of so many things I'd hope to get.  So a return visit will have to take place before the end of the month.
