Paintingboys
This afternoon I probably did the most stressful thing I could possibly have done, given how tired I am. I had a lot of trays of bits of paint left over from yesterday's Creation Station classes and instead of washing the bits of paint down the drain I put them out on the stairs for the boys to paint the stairwell wall with. They had a brief crazy spell of painting the wall, we got hands covered in paint, and then just as Bean declared he wanted a bath and started painting himself to prove it, there was a crash from the kitchen and I realised Bear was no longer painting the wall.... No harm done thank goodness, my laptop survived being pushed off the table!!! Bathtime lasted long enough for me to clear the trays away, wipe down the spillages on the stairs, and wash all the trays and sponges up. Amazing. And Bear was even laughing in the bath too.
Glad they were happy (if a bit twitchy and desperate to go down and play) to sit for me to take a picture of them in front of some of their painting!
Oh yes and this evening we had some drama, just to top off a stressful day. Steve went out to Source, out 20s & 30s teaching evening, and left his bag behind so no housekeys - "please be awake when I get home, I left my bag!" And then, having checked my work bag where I thought my keys were, only to find they were not there, I assumed that they were in my regular handbag. Took the boys out for a drive. Got back. Checked bag. NO KEYS. Locked out. How on earth??!?!! No fair!! So I ended up driving around for a while, looking for somewhere to park to watch the sunset or the sea, and wait for the meeting to finish. Thankfully it turns out the equivalent of the coathanger trick still works. THAT'S why you should always bolt your door when you leave the house if you have a latched lock....
We've since rediscovered who has our spare set of housekeys!!!
(This is a backblip - please check out tomorrow's Superman too!)
