New Arrivals
First day of work this week and a late finish as well.
Came home to do some more sorting and tidying of the house after our weekend away. J managed to put all the new bottles in the cupboard yesterday so I thought it only right to get them out and show them off. From left to right we have
4-year-old Kilhoman Machir Bay - Named after the bay just down the road from this little farmyard distillery. A great sweet and smoky dram that should get even better in the future when they start releasing older drams.
Caol Ila Feis Ile 2013 - the dram for the Whisky Festival from Caol Ila this year. Great gentle smoky dram with a sherry complex finish
Bruichladdich Octomore 4.2 Comus. A beast of a dram at 167 ppm phenols its the smokiest thing I have very tasted. Just like sucking on a large box of burnt matches, but slightly sweet as well.
Laphroaig - 10-year-old cask strength. A great dram and J's favourite of the weekend.
Ardbeg Corryvreckan. One of my favourites. A true Ardbeg with lots of peat and sweet as well.
Not bad for a long weekend away. Looking forward to drinking these over the coming year or so.
