Day 7 Camino Estella - Twisted
Today was a rest day which was an opportunity for my fellow pilgrim and friend Peirs to explore the town of Estella. As a former archaeologist, Peirs was interested in this ancient town and exploring some of its hidden treasures. The town was the former centre of the ancient Navarre kingdom. The town has a number of medieval buildings and bridges worth looking at. Amongst them was San Pedro Church of La Rua, a church located on the top of a hill at the end of a row of ascending steps. Inside this church you find the remains of some fine cloisters. An interesting feature is a twisted column you can just about see on your right.
