Simon’s Seat

Elaine is staying for a couple of days so we decided to go to Skipton on the bus. We were half way to our destination when we came upon a nasty accident that required all  three emergency service arrived and the air ambulance. We were about 200 yards away and trapped in a traffic jam.
We were stuck for over an hour till one road was cleared and traffic could start to move again.
Most of us agreed that we didn’t mind the delay while important rescue work was taking place. We finally got to Skipton and had a pleasant time but our thoughts were with the people involved.
All clear on our return journey and l too a photograph from the bus of Simon’s Seat in the distance, a scene of peace and tranquillity so different from a few hours earlier.
