The Bicycle Village

What a treat event to be welcomed back into Manchester for : The Bicycle Village was once again upon us, and we were eager for it all. Organised annually by the creators behind The Bike Barn, this event welcomes all the beaming bike groups of Manchester to gather together in their various wheeling forms to generate a load of cash for rotating local charities. Live gyrating music and dance, workshops, circus, maintenance, bike jumbles and auctions all with wondrous cycling themes scuttled about the shaky Manchester day and demanded that the clouds part to make room for the rejuvenating rays of the long lost sun. We enjoyed a busy day working back2back with Manchester Friends of the Earth who were providing the energy [pedal powered smoothies] for our cyclists [pedal powered large sunny tunes]; a stoic concoction that fired its way into the early evening.
