View from the top..
We’ve had a wonderful day in Rye, mostly dry and bright but still cold. Plenty to see though so never mind. Little Sis and I climbed to the top of the tower of The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin. Narrow, winding and steep stairs, so a mind-over- matter job in places, and coming down backwards IS better but takes some concentration. Well worth the ‘effort’ for the views.
My extra shows the fantastic Rye Millennium embroidery on display in the church. One artist using many different sewing skills. I stood for a long time enjoying it.
Browsing the sheds was great. Lots of vintage stuff of every sort. Would be great outfits for our Goodwood Revival visit in September.
The rain began again around 5. 30 so we caught the train back to St Leonard’s Warrior Square and stayed out for dinner. A lovely shared plates meal. It’s good being so near our accommodation and we dried out and settled for the evening.
