Game capture
Another lovely sunny day here in SA after a chilly night.
Today Ian, nephew, was getting some new gnu for the farm game park and so David and I went along to watch. Before the gnu were caught, the farm owners were collecting black male impala which were to be removed from the 'mating' herd as this farmer is breeding tricolour animals - black, white and brown which apparently the Americans love. Once darted - from the helicopter - the animals were brought back to where we were waiting and the vet gave them the drug to 'revive' them and off they scampered.
We got 4 gnu for the home farm - 2 male and 2 female and when we went to feed later this evening we saw them all happily browsing. So all in all Ian is happy, though he'd have liked 4 females....
