The Rialto Area
The Rialto Bridge was an interesting challenge with so many people sharing the experience with us. Now to the extras. Next we moved on to the building next to the Rialto Bridge called Fondaco dei Tedeschi. Or the Tedeschi Centre. Sort of a Venetian Harrods. Nice for looking but not in our budget range.
Back to the Vaporetto with a canal scene of the Salute Church and Dogana on our way to Ca' Rezzonico, one of the most fascinating museums in Venice. It was for many years a private Palazzo but due to the massive cost of its upkeep, it was gifted to the city of Venice. It is now packed with art, furniture and similar objects of beauty.
It is a particularly notable example of the 18th century Venetian baroque and rococo architecture and interior decoration, and displays paintings by the leading Venetian painters of the period. The final 3 extras were taken here.
